Electricity savings in universities and schools.

Offices, classrooms, and meeting rooms

Lighting and air conditioning systems are often left running for around 12 hours per day, regardless of whether students or staff are present. They may also remain on during weekends and annual holidays.

After installing the Lotus motion and light sensor system, there is no need to modify lighting or air conditioning units or carry out any work that disrupts daily operations. The system automatically operates lighting and air conditioning when occupancy is detected and turns them off after a pre-set period of no occupancy (typically a few minutes), defined during system design.

For large spaces, the area is divided into zones, with lighting and cooling operating independently based on occupancy in each zone. This results in electricity savings of up to 70%

Bathrooms and storage rooms

The cumulative usage time of bathrooms and storage rooms does not usually exceed three hours per day, yet lighting often remains on 24 hours a day throughout the year.

With the Lotus motion and light sensor system installed, lighting operates only when presence is detected and automatically switches off after a few minutes of no occupancy, as defined during system design. This achieves electricity savings of up to 80%

Corridors and staircases

Corridors and staircases are typically occupied for no more than three hours per day, especially during low-usage periods, yet lighting is often left on 24/7 or at least 12 hours per day when using timer-based systems.

With the Lotus motion and light sensor system, lighting remains at a low level and automatically increases when a person passes through, before gradually dimming after they leave. Staircases are controlled per floor, meaning each level operates independently based on occupancy, while corridors are divided into longitudinal sections.

This results in electricity savings of up to 80%

Parking garages

Garage occupancy typically ranges from three to six hours per day, while lighting often remains on 24 hours or at least 12 hours per day, even when natural daylight is available.

After installing the Lotus motion and light sensor system, corridors are kept dimly lit during nighttime or when no natural light is present. Parking areas are only illuminated when a person is detected in a specific parking bay.

This results in electricity savings of up to 80%
